WASHINGTON COUNTY, FL — The Washington County Board of County Commissioners has declared a Local State of Emergency effective October 7, 2026, in response to the anticipated impacts of Tropical Storm Isaias and the severe weather conditions associated with the storm.

The declaration is intended to provide Washington County with the necessary authority and flexibility to take appropriate actions to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Washington County and to safeguard public and private property.

The declaration authorizes the County to coordinate emergency response and preparedness activities with local, state, and federal agencies and to take such actions as may be necessary to respond effectively to the potential impacts.

Residents are urged to remain vigilant and take appropriate precautions as conditions develop. Citizens should monitor official weather forecasts and Washington County emergency notifications and be prepared to follow any instructions issued by local or state emergency management officials.
